2011 WESTERN WEEK FESTIVAL
Mamane Street – Hwy 240 will be Closed on Friday May 27th from 5:00 to 11:00 PM for the Parade & Block Party, Mahalo for your Kokua!
Businesses & Residents may be affected by the 2011 Western Week Road closure, Block Party & Paniolo Parade; the planning committee appreciates your kokua!
The road closure will occur on Friday May 27th at 5:00 PM for the parade & block party that will be held in front of the Botelho Building on Mamane Street, between Puakalo & Kika Street in Honokaa on Friday May 27, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Additionally there will be parking restrictions and in the same area beginning Thursday night the 26th to allow the event to set up.

Celebrates Honokaa’s Heritage May 22nd through May 30h, 2011
[Honokaa, Hawaii, May 22-30th, 2011] -- Dust off your boots, saddle up and join Honokaa Town in celebrating their heritage during the 2011 Western Week Festival! We’re kicking off with our First Annual Macadamia Nut Golf Tournament. Have you ever golfed with a Mac “Nutty” Golf Ball? Well, now you can! Enter to play with custom made Mac Nut Golf balls by Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company, 100% grown and produced on the Big Island; proceeds benefit Brantley Center a non-profit servicing the Hamakua Community for 41 years!
On Friday May 27th the Block Party rides into downtown Honokaa! The road will be closed on from 5 to 11:00 PM with the Paniolo Parade starting at 5:00 PM with Grand Marshall is Mrs. Josephine Boteilho. Lasso up your gang & ride into some great family fun with Western Week!
From 6:00 to 11:00 Pm we have entertainment in the streets Featuring Live Country music by Silver Spurs & our Famous Saloon Girl Contest!
The Hawaii Saddle Club is proud to put on the 55th Annual Scholarship Rodeo; the oldest, largest, and best rodeo in the State of Hawaii, with over 300 contestants from all over the State of Hawaii and the Mainland. The Honokaa Rodeo Grounds will host Slack Roping all day on Saturday, May 28, 2011, with bareback broncs, barrel racing, calf roping, bull riding and other exciting rodeo events from noon to 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 29 and Monday, May 30, 2011.
